Scope and Contents: The first part of the volume is the accounting of expenses for the various schools Henry Chase attended beginning in 1843-1844, when he attended an unknown school, in 1845 when he entered college in Burlington, Vermont, then from 1848-1850 when he attended Yale College for his junior and senior year, and finally in 1851 when he left home for Cambridge Law School.
